I’m an idiot, I was looking at the image for way too long waiting for something to happen, before I realized it was a picture.

What kind of planes are those on the ground?
Yup, drones are the future. Infantry missions are gonna be a nightmare depending on how advanced they are, but I guess that depends on the government…
I wouldn’t wanna be on the frontlines in our modern battlefield, but I guess footsoldiers are still needed in today’s day and age.
That just makes me think about other types of robotics that could be used on the battlefield, like an RC car with a machine gun equipped going through trenches and tunnels or a support role specializing in carrying heavy supplies and transporting them on the ground if needed.
Or perhaps a carrier drone that can carry a ground drone and a pack of 6 smaller drones with munitions, essentially deploying an entire robotics squad with both ground and air capabilities.
With the ground drone having a remote-controlled sniper rifle and the carrier drone repositioning it between vantage points to pick off targets from different angles.
Well maybe in five years we’ll see that kind of stuff.
