BALTIMORE – As expected, Ravens veteran outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy, who is tied for the team lead with eight sacks, is inactive for Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Van Noy was doubtful for the game after sustaining neck and hamstring injuries in Baltimore’s Week 12 game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

With Van Noy sidelined, young edge rushers Tavius Robinson, Adisa Isaac and David Ojabo are expected to get bigger roles against the league’s No. 1 rushing team.

There, however, were two surprises on the Ravens inactive list. Veteran safety Marcus Williams, who has the team’s third biggest salary cap hits at $18 million, is a healthy scratch. Williams lost his starting safety job a few weeks ago to Ar’Darius Williams and has played two total defensive snaps over the past two weeks. However, him being scratched leaves the Ravens lacking experience at the safety position.

The other surprise scratch was running back Keaton Mitchell. He returned from a major knee injury in Week 10, but hasn’t had an offensive role and has played just four offensive snaps in three weeks. Mitchell’s kick return role will likely be filled by rookie running back Rasheen Ali.

Also inactive for the Ravens: wide receiver Devontez Walker and center Nick Samac.

Middle linebacker Roquan Smith returns for the Ravens after missing last Monday’s game against the Chargers with a hamstring strain.
