If you haven’t watched this, and you swim in Belfast Lough – you should sit down and take a watch.

Anyone who swims in Belfast lough needs their head seeing to anyway. Common sense would tell anyone not to.
That was called cockletown beach in the day. That outlet he showed isn’t the only one out of that treatment plant. A far bigger overflow pipe discharges into a stream at the rhs of the plant which is slightly further up that beach, with two massive pipes.
Portrush put raw sewage onto a public beach for a long time at the metropole site btw.
Interesting and disturbing video, something has to be done to sort this pollution

Good watch, thank you!
But how else can I become the Joker if I don’t swim in a toxic lake? I can’t just break into a chemical factory, this is my only choice!
The stench of that water over the summer was horrendous, I run on the path between Whiteabbey and Fortwilliam and had to hold my breath going past the bit opposite Gideons Green. You’d get the smell driving down the M5, how anyone can swim in that baffles me.
There used to be a group that swam from a slipway just past the end of Loughshore Beach. About 3 years ago I decided to join them one day. Was knee deep into the water when a sanitary pad floated past me and that was the end of that. Boke
That’s unreal. And the map of other such pipes?
Great video. Hope this gets the recognition it deserves
