  3. I went to see the movie for Denzel, but I loved the performances of Pedro, Paul and Connie more. They really made the movie a good story. Denzel’s character was such a slime. Don’t get me wrong, I like seeing him portraying a bad guy. But I fell in like with the other characters first. Like Leo DiCaprio in Flowers of the Killer Moon. I’m unused to seeing him play such an awful character.

  12. Seems like I might be alone with this opinion but I thought Denzel was miscast or at least mis-directed. I was quite liking his character until he >!tried to usurp Rome, and kill the Caesars. Then I thought he became so cartoonish and ridiculous!<

    Also I think this is more Ridley Scott’s fault but having so many different accents between all the cast with Denzel’s being the most glaring was certainly a choice. His vocal cadence and delivery is iconic, I will give him that.

  14. This movie was the laziest sequel ever. The fighting scenes had no excitement at all.

  17. It’s wild how bad they fumbled this IP. Movie was trash and I think respect for Denzel is the only reason he’s received praise, he worked with a tough script and his performance suffered because of it.

  18. i rewatched gladiator yesterday and i actually haven’t seen it since i was young, definitely hit hard as an adult though

  20. Good performance, bad movie. Like Joaquin Phoenix in Joker.
