  1. Last time i made a post like this people were moaning i didnt say anything bad about Labour and other bs so i did this to make them happy x

  2. No one creates jobs for you sorry. You have to go get one

  3. It’s a cultural issue, many people are happy enough to claim, fart out kids and claim for them too which leads the kids growing up doing the same thing. I don’t know what the answer is to all of this. It’s probably starts with education.

  4. Could always open a harbour shop we don’t have enough of those…

  5. The notion that there are “no jobs” is objectively bs. Companies compete with each other to get people work in every field imaginable.

  6. So everyone in the comments is saying just get a job and be unhappy like thats a good thing to be,

Also from data ive seen there are around 830,000 vacant jobs in the uk but around 1.5 million unemployed people so that doesnt really work out is it.

  7. When I was 18 and has finished my IT college course, I worked picking fucking tomatoes in a boiling hot greenhouse and stinking of tomatoes and shite by the end of the day, because it earnt me some money.

I did that for a year before I got a job doing what I wanted to do, which was IT and that’s what I learnt at college. Shit jobs still pay, and employers prefer anyone to have some work experience rather than none.

At the interview that’s what I said, I wanted to work to earn money and picking tomatoes gave me skills in time management and targeting. See, pretty much BS but that’s how you talk yourself up, and of course I wanted to really work in IT but was waiting for the right job to kickstart my career.

  8. It’s all to get people to join the army. Not hard to see when you see it

  9. OP you keep repeating that there are around 800k jobs but 1.5mil out of work which sounds like it doesn’t add up but do your figures account for total unemployed people or just unemployed who are able to work and refuse to? Because yes, the disparity between open vacancies and the jobless is high when you look at total jobless but but if you remove all of the people who are jobless legitimately due to being unbale to physically do a job, as well as those that are categorised as jobless due to lifestyle choice (travelling/raising children etc) then I’m willing to bet your total of jobless comes wayyyyy down.

Fact is you are probably not going to get a lot of sympathy most places in the UK as we have spent years watching the benefits designed to protect those who can’t work being used by those who won’t work.

There are jobs, and hopefully with the recent bids towards improving NHS and educational staffing, there will soon be a lot more as well, and while I believe there are some people who try and try to get work but can’t, for every 1of those there are 20 Larry’s sitting on the couch refusing to.

  10. Due to health conditions I’m in an awkward position where I can’t take the full 9-5 shift that minimum wage workers usually have to do to survive, yet I’m technically not ill enough to claim full disability and unemployment benefits. If I lose UC, im basically up the creek without a paddle

  11. There are jobs, just not jobs you want. Everyone who can work, should work.

  12. I was reading a seperate article about immigration and a prominent, respsected economist said “the ideal rate of unemployment is about 5%” – so we’re just saying 5% of people should starve?

His point was something to do with everyone being employed indicating inneficiencies and also not giving employers sufficient bargaining power.

  13. Good lord there’s a lot of miserable pricks in this thread

  14. So there are no jobs but as soon as we talk about cutting immigration it’s exasperating a worker shortage

  15. “Best we can can give you is McDonalds bathroom cleaner ten hours a week unpaid”

  16. have you tried walking into an office building and “demanding that the CEO interview you”?

  17. There are jobs though, we have an employment crisis in certain industries atm. We’ve just got far too used to immigrant labour doing the hard work that Brits don’t want to. If people want immigrants out of the country then they (and their kids) are gonna have to start doing the shittier jobs.

  18. Why dont they have jobs already, u can apply for so many jobs from 16yo and up, shouldnt be benefits for freeloaders
