Europe to Introduce Digital Identity Wallet. Planned to be Introduced by September.

  1. No one asked for this, no one wants this. Certain companies are going to make it mandatory for us to use this, not for our protection or convenience, but to collect our personal information.

    I always liked the EU. It would be deeply disappointing for this to become a reality.

  2. That’s great and all but what happens when it gets hacked and my passport, medical card or driving license isn’t available to me?

  3. From what I am getting it’s a digital identification system, similar to what the Mobile BankID is in Sweden.

    I’d love to see a system like that spread to the rest of the EU, because it has made all digital dealings a LOT easier. From sending 50 SEK to a friend for picking up something in the store to login onto online services. It has made companies and government agencies a lot more manageable, digitally, when you can identify yourself properly online.

    My biggest problem right now is that it is run by the biggest banks and I would like an official government handled identification, like a recognized digital passport.
