  1. Translation to follow on this comment. Also “take” instead of “talk” on the title. Thanks autocorrect.

Turkish journalists/analysts on CNN Turk “are afraid” of a possible Greek attack against Turkey under the pretext of the Ukraine crisis – Maps are being shown with Greek islands labeled [by them] as “illegaly occupied”.

Under the chaos of the Ukrainian crisis, Turkish journalists/analysts of CNN Turk are “afraid” of a possible Greek attack against Turkey, presenting maps with Greek islands that they claim are illegaly occupied by Greece and they suggest an invasion and occupation of these islands by Turkey. All this happening, not on a small channel, but on one of the biggest networks within the country.

Journalist Basak Sencul (Μπασάκ Σενγκιουλ – a Turk can correct me on how to spell this name) on CNN Turk speaks in front of a map of the “illegally occupied” islands of Greece. Firstly, she brings forth a question saying: “Greece equipped those islands while it shouldn’t. Nonetheless, Turkey has raised the issue and keeps bringing arguments that will inevitably happen. There is a question though; can there be a Greek provocation against Turkey, similar to that of Russia [against Ukraine]?”, says Sencul. She continues, “in the coming period, is there any Turkish move in mind?”

Following, on a similar tone, sociologist and journalist Hulki Cevisoglu (Χουλκί Τζεβίζογλου – a Turk can correct me on how to spell this name) says that Turkey has to find ways to take these islands back; “Now, we must not fall victims to a trap, but we have to find a way to take our illegally occupied islands back. Maybe, considering what’s happening in Ukraine, should we ignore our occupied islands? Should we become neutralized? These islands are occupied, Alexandroupolis got militarized and Greece keeps provoking Turkey”, Cevisoglu concluded.

  2. Talking is better then “by other means”. You can politely ask and then get a polite answer that is most likely/ certainly a no.

After 10/100/?? times the politeness will be gone and then what?

Steal them as a thief in the night? Yeah that will work out. Greece will definetely accept it as a case closed then /s

  3. I was about to post the same article.

CNN Turk is unbelievably extreme. How can such shows take place on such a huge channel and be viewed as normal?

  4. There ‘s actually nothing to take back. They could try conquering us, but yeah, they know they can’t…

  5. Eh Turks made complaint and Cnn gave a first warning to Cnn Turk. You should do the same. But making a propaganda like all Turks want that is very wrong. Your choice

“Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (CHP) Spokesperson Murat Ongun stated that CNN Turk broadcast biased and he voiced his criticisms on the subject.”

  6. Turkish fighter planes frequently violate Greek airspace, and have for years. Where are the sanctions? A Turkish pilot crashed into and killed a Greek escort pilot over my home island, hard proof of violations, yet no blowback from the world at large. This apathy emboldens Erdogan.

  7. Those are written on the screen in Turkish:

**Islands which are on Demilitarised Status according to 1923 Lausanne and 1947 Paris Agreements.**

I have watched this broadcast whilst it was live. They talked about how Greece remilitarises those islands even though it is clearly against international agreements.

They did NOT talked about how islands belong to Turkey or whatsoever. For your information, Republic of Turkey renounced her claims on those islands in Lausanne and do NOT claim their sovereignty nowadays. We respect the Treaty of Lausanne and we will always do as a country, that agreement is the founding paper of our independence.

I don’t know this website you posted this news from, but it does not seem to be a trustworthy one.

That seems to be an outright agenda pushing without an actual basis of claim.

  8. They’re right there. So close. All tou have to do, my dear Turks, is just reach out and grab them. Try it, please. See what happens…

  9. Misinformation. Title is not the same as what is shown on the picture. Pure greek propaganda. This sub is so easily to manupilate.
