  1. It’s by George Washington Wilson. If you want to see more like this you can go on the national library of scotland’s website to get access to a collection of his pictures from around the same time taken all over the country.

Edit to add: sorry I was wrong, the nls only has a small sample available online, the university of aberdeen has a [large collection available](https://www.abdn.ac.uk/collections/our-collections/george-washington-wilson-collection-152.php) though.

  2. Innerleithen in the fore and Walkerburn in the background.
Traquair Arms Hotel on the right. All the mills have long closed but the town is doing well as a hub for mountain biking.

  3. First thought when I saw it was Tweed Valley. Initially thought Peebles, then Inners. I was right! (Eventually). Very similar to the view from the tracks up Cardrona way.

    Good find OP.

  4. For those wondering, I found this at an antique shop. I *definitely* should have purchased it. It was signed on the back by an unintelligible name and the years 1869, 1882 and 1922. It said that it was the birth place of their grandma. If there is enough demand I can buy it and scan a proper digital copy to share here.
