Greece ranks fourth, alongside Portugal, among the most popular destinations for summer 2025, according to a survey by Marriott Bonvoy, the loyalty program of the Marriott hotel company.
This follows other studies showing Greece’s high ranking on travelers’ lists for the upcoming season. The Marriott Bonvoy “Ticket to Travel 2025” survey, conducted among members from Europe, the Middle East and Africa, places Spain in first place, followed by Italy and France. Greece and Portugal are followed by the UK and Germany in the top 6. Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and the USA are further down the list.
The survey also highlights emerging trends, such as high net worth individuals increasingly opting for luxury accommodations, with 76% choosing five-star hotels. In addition, travelers from this group plan to take nearly ten leisure trips in the next year. The research also shows a growing interest in exploring destinations where they may have family roots, particularly among younger generations, with 43% of 18-24 year olds planning such trips.
Travel predictions for 2025 are optimistic, with 81% of consumers planning to take the same or more vacations than in 2024. Travelers book an average of 3.6 months in advance.
