  1. So it wasn’t unparliamentary at all? What a lying prick! 😂

  2. Yep, over the years, the Ceann Comhairle has ruled a number of different words as “unparliamentary”. They include:

    brat or acting the brat
    buffoon or buffoonery
    chancer
    communist
    corner boy, corner boy tactics
    coward
fascist or fascist Minister (although the chair does tolerate the expression “fascist” used in a general way)
    gurrier
    guttersnipe
    hypocrite, bloody hypocrites, hypocrisy etc.
    rat
    scumbag
    scurrilous, scurrilous speaker
    yahoo

The document also states that a reference to ‘handbagging’, particularly when speaking about “a lady member of the House” has been deemed to be unparliamentary.

  3. That picture, was he the guy who got shafted from Boyzone?

  4. Stagg was being a complete and utter wanker as well iirc, like if anything we should be praising Gogarty’s moderation when he clapped back

  5. But was it on the list of “most unparliamentary” words? Thats a completely different list …

  6. People should also be aware he was a manager on a hilarious (not in a good way) TV show back in the day called “Celebrity bainisteoir” and he brought the members of the team into a music studio to help him record a song. Which was one of the most mortifying things I was ever involved in

  7. Why even is there a committee to investigate or pontificate on this, do they have this to keep them away from ordering more printers or bike sheds
