Some people in Whitechapel would sell their female children into trafficking, up till the early 1900s. It was grim.
I love these old photos of London. My Great Grandfather was in H Division of the London Metropolitan Police, 1880 to 1905. So these old photos give some idea of what it was like for him. It looked quite grim.
