  1. Interesting.
Been a member for 27 years, nice if they had told us first, still it is the Y.
    Nothing on the App yet

  2. WTFH *sigh* they just refurbed it before COVID. Geez, that place has been a mainstay since the 1980s. I don’t think they owned the building, either, but not sure. I thought health and wellbeing was the foundation of what they did, which is why all my visited relatives flocked to it as a continuation of their own schooling and education.

  3. In the ’80s, half the club kids in London (well, the male half), lived there.

  4. I didn’t know about this YMCA but I’m a big fan of the building and I really hope that this isn’t the first sign that it’s on the path of demolition.

  5. YMCAs still exist? I thought those died out during the 90s. Must be a generational thing

  6. Oh woww..did my Level 3 and 4 courses there back in 2015.
    Fantastic gym.

  7. Very sad news. Another great institution that added character to London and served a wide community dead.

  8. London: Be a millionaire, or pretend to be one OR fuck off.

    Some other doozies,

London: Don’t sit there, that’s why we put spikes on it.

London: Is this bench uncomfortable enough for you? GOOD.

London: What do you need a nightlife for? You’re too poor anyway!

London: Face down ass up, time to pay your rent.

London: Oh, your bike got stolen? That’s your own fault for being too poor to get a cab, isn’t it?

  9. member since 2015 and going 3/4 times a week. Recived their email today. Not sure it has sunk yet, fuck that sucks balls 🙁
