MINSK,
3 December (BelTA) – Training of technical specialists in Belarus is
organized at a very high level, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister
Viktor Karankevich said while answering questions during a meeting
with the staff and students of the Belarusian National Technical
University on 2 December, BelTA has learned.
“We
ensure training of technical specialists at a very high level. If we
talk about the energy sector, specialists of our energy system
exchange experience with colleagues from the CIS countries. Highly
qualified professionals work in our energy sector. Almost all of them
received education here in Belarus. Many of our specialists have
already been invited by the Rosatom State Corporation to participate
in its projects, although we have been developing the nuclear sector
not for so long. A lot of specialists who participated in the
construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant are now involved
in the construction of Rosatom facilities in other countries. The
state corporation is building more than 30 power units. They are
happy to work with our specialists,” Viktor Karankevich said.
He
added that he had recently talked to Hungarian Minister of Foreign
Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó. “He also indicated that they
are waiting for our specialists as part of their construction project
of two power units of the Paks II NPP. They know that the Belarusian
NPP is a modern, high-quality, high-tech facility,” the deputy
prime minister said.
IAEA
Director General Rafael Grossi visited Belarus in October 2024. “The
Belarusian nuclear power plant and the specialists, who are currently
working there, were given high praise,” Viktor Karankevich said.
