Swiss Gruyère wins world championship cheese contest for second time in a row

  1. I like this, the championship looks totally legit. The tested over 2,900 different cheese and they disclose all the judges and their experience on their website.

It is also important to note that they were not the only Gruyere in the contest, there were 15 of them. This contest looks very popular among Swiss cheese makers, but not so much for French or Italian. There was only one contestant from Italy in the Parmesan category.

The second cheese of the contest was an Appenzeller.

  2. I must admit that while I love cheese, I love mild cheese so the Swiss cheeses are not ideal for my palate, however, I am proud of this achievement. Congratulations!

  3. I have lived here for almost half a decade, and it is my firm opinion that: Gruyere is the greatest contribution the Swiss peoples made to humanity.

  4. Even when I still ate cheese I never was super into Gruyère. A bit too boring for me. I just liked the really, really stinky and more liquidy cheeses. But most people are weak when it comes to cheese, so I do understand that I’m a minority here ;p
