  2. It will be very difficult for Rutte trying to convince Trump of the seriousness of the current geopolitical situation with increasing collaboration between Iran,China, NK and Russia. The biggest problem is that while these countries conspire against the West led global order, Trump effectively does as well. For him everything is a zero sum game and he wants to divide US allies so he can bully them around and everything that is not valued in dollars, he does not appreciate.

  11. Deal or no deal, you would have to be disillusioned to believe that there is even a slim chance for peace in the long term. Russia as well as others are set to challenge the current world order and the West’s actions in Ukraine and Iran have only cemented that. Honestly, I don’t see a pathway there for deescalation. A reprieve would only benefit Russia to regain it’s strength, this wouldn’t be helpful for Ukraine. At this point, what concessions could be offered to either side that will end the conflict? We’re more than likely to see it reignite in 3 to 5 years.

  17. I feel like I’m going crazy over the last month with media and analysts repeatedly speaking as if trump is going to be in any way a normal president who cares about normal things or behaves in any way normally. We’ve already done this.

  18. As far as I’ve pieced together Trumps peace plans are to give Russia occupied territories, prevent Ukraine from joining NATO, giving China Taiwan, and supplying Israel with a surplus of weapons to invade Iran.

    It’s the worst possible scenario.
