Where’s that gif with the guy frantically eating popcorn when you need it?
Please don’t go. Not before the Rebels bombard the port. I wanna see ships getting blown up in port.
The Russian navy seems to be running away from conflict zones – not a sign of a strong and confident military.
Ships tend to set sail. It’s what they do. We may as well write a news article about HMS Somerset evacuating Devonport this morning.
When we have confirmed news that ALL seaworthy ships in port have left then we’ve got something. Until then this is just speculation.
I’m calling this propaganda. Syria had been in a much worse state than today but Russian ships were still around.
Calm down, guys.
It’s a long way home. British trawlers have been warned!
*First* signs? Seriously, Naval News?
Look guys. Back in 2022 during the first year of the invasion, Russia accumulated no less than 2 attack subs, 1 ballistic missile sub, 2 cruisers, 2 destroyers, 3 frigates, and 3 corvettes in the Mediterranean, all operating out of Tartus except for the nuclear sub.
Big important Syrian naval base that Russia depended on. Close alliance with Assad and everything, right? Eternal, unbreakable, blah blah.
But as the military operation in Ukraine has gotten specialer and specialer over the past years, and drained Russia of any capacity to sustain support for Assad, all of those warships have departed.
I want to repeat that for emphasis. *All of those ships have already departed*.
Do you know what Russia had left in the Mediterranean as of this autumn, 2024?
The nuclear sub, which doesn’t use Tartus (or anything in Syria) as a base; and one of the corvettes.
That’s it.
Oh and the corvette has apparently been using Algiers for maintenance and resupply, instead of Tartus.
There are no Russian Navy ships to evacuate anymore. It’s over. It’s been over for months. There aren’t any “first signs.” There aren’t even any “last signs.” You missed the boat, Naval News. That ship has sailed.
Russian troll farm seen evacuating Syria to this sub.
Photos to follow….
They have a long way home. Let’s hope they sink along the way.
Could this be the straw that broke the camel’s back? Other countries that want to be free from Russian influence will definitely see this as a sign of weakness. It also shows the world that Hitler, I mean Putin, has squandered all Russian military resources for the war in Ukraine. The tank is running on empty.
Wow. Seems the rebels are getting closer to Tartus!
