  1. Korean constitution requires the government to do so and not doing will be crime in itself. Unless Yoon is crazy enough to challenge the constitution, it is definitely gonna be revoked

  2. Fuck him. He single handedly managed to royally fuck up Korean economy, stock market, and political situation.

  3. He’s literally just got to say something like not all members were present and then it’s just down to the military to decide who to back.

  4. How come so many South Korean presidents end up being criminals? How many have gone to prison?

  5. Well that lasted long. Yoon, the Buffoon. About as much understanding of politics as the incoming American President.

  6. This must be the end of it. Question is what happens to Yoon now. Impeachment? Arrested by the end of the week?

  7. Lmao. There’ll be a politician in jail by the end of the week, alright. But unfortunately for Yoon, I think it’s gonna be… Yoon himself. (Especially with even the army apparently now being on Parliament’s side.)

  8. “Nothing ever happens” gang keeping strong 💪

  9. Suffering a coup?

    Just say no!

The president cannot legally declare martial law without your consent.

  10. I mean this is the political equivalent of shitting your pants surely?

Like… he just proved he’s totally a dunce lol

  11. Is the ROK miltary following their Assembly’s directions?

  12. Was this the shortest martial law in history? Was there maybe a 10 minute coupe attempt that was shorter somewhere?

  13. per BBC, SK military says they will maintain martial law until president lifts it.

  14. Martial law hasn’t been lifted, says the military.

Anyone in Seoul right now should avoid areas near the national assembly.

  15. How did they get to vote? I thought the national assembly was blocked by police and soldiers?

  16. This guy is cooked, this is not the kind of stuff you just get away with unless you can maintain the power.

  17. Must be a nice to have a congress who actually respects their democracy.

  18. Did anyone get “A president more loony than Trump?” On their 2024 bingo card?

  19. Let’s say you’re in a room. And in that room, to your left and right are former president’s of South Korea. Chances are the room that you’re in is a jail cell.

  20. Sarah Jeong did some great on the ground reporting over on bluesky. Sounds like the military dispersed and now we wait for additional parliamentary acts.

  21. Soon enough, he is going to capture parliament members. That’s how coup works.
