Been living here years and I've never seen it before. It's a heavily Eastern European area but that doesn't really manifest much outside the shops and local businesses, so it's fun to see a flashy cultural event like this.

  1. Yup its a traditional dance some people do in Romania during Christmas time

  2. Celebrating the right to arm bears. Especially Wojtek.

  3. It’s from Romania and it’s called “The Bear” (“Ursul”). It’s a trick-or-treat tradition for winter holidays to scare away bad spirits. We also have “The Goat” and other pagan masked/costume dances. It’s awesome to attend it, the drums reverberate loudly, it’s very impactful and makes you want to dance and go wild lol. I’m used to it because I’d see it every year in Romania, but I don’t know how people feel about it here. Hope not bothered. If bothered, I hope they stop then!

    [Here it is](https://youtu.be/Uzgp63d8rjI?si=dj5TgiEgd-ZVpsVS).

Edit: For anyone interested, [this is The Goat](https://youtu.be/Q7oeO1yuFSU?si=EOERn3Cn8fEYCAEd).

  4. Much better than the Stratford tradition of a shirtless drug addict shouting or the ski mask wearing hoodlems fondling themselves in front of their friends.

    More of this tradition please.

  5. Need Marshall Law to stop this sort of cosmopolitan thing

  6. I heard it’s a fertility dance.

If your wife isn’t getting pregnant, call the bears for a dance.

Of the 6 bears, 5 dance around the man while the 6th bangs the wife

Infertility cured without risk of alimony
