If just I was in one that would increase the percentage significantly.
I’m a triple threat!
Yeah because we can go to Walmart for free
Is this surprising? I’d guess that the LGBT community is probably about proportionately represented with their percentage of the population, even if it’s not all great representation. The only categories that likely aren’t consistent with the population are obese individuals and those over 50. I’d bet very attractive people are way over represented.
I understand not wanting to completely ignore reality, but people generally seem to want pretty young men and women in their media, right? Like, no one looks like The Rock. No one looks like Chris Hemsworth or Ana de Armas. None of them even look like themselves without a styling team and professional lighting and intense workout regiments. Is there a lot of clamor to have their roles taken with the average person sitting next to you on an American Airline flight or whatever?

I’m only fat and disabled, but I’m willing to go for the hat trick.
OTOH, it’ll be another couple years before I hit 50, I guess I’ll put off my sexual exploration until then to hit for the cycle.
34% of people in the US are over 50. 5.5% of LGBTQ+.
Do they need more representation? Yes.
How many of those jobs for over 50s are filled by Tom Cruise?

Half the problem, or most of it, is Hollywood etc being unable or unwilling to write characters with these attributes without making it their whole character.
People watch movies for entertainment and an escape and usually want to identify with who they are watching. Catering to the majority is what makes money, the only thing that matters to them.
What about Asian male leads in movies? Need more representation
Please don’t lump the fat with disabled . I didn’t decide any factor in becoming disabled .
We need to get the number of fat characters down
That number is a massive overrepresentation.
Is it discriminatory to the skinny that fat people take up larger portions of the screen?
Seems like fat, LGBTQ and disabled people are overrepresented.
What an odd group of individuals to lump together in effort to speak about representation. Why not throw in redheads? Or Native Americans? How many highly freckled movie stars do you regularly see? It’s such a silly discussion, that’s never in a good faith, while always pretending to be.
Dems never gonna win again with headlines like these
Lol, it should be less
Haha, we’re lumping fat people in with disabled and LGBT? Lol!
Because adding more and YouTube and X will go into a boycotted meltdown? Which kills the profits?
Yes, because if there were more roles with morbidly obese, unattractive people, the moviegoing public would be sprinting to theaters.
Hollywood sells fantasies. The average Joe or Jane generally doesn’t want to see themselves on the big screen.
Anyone seen the Penguin? Disabled, fat, Italian-American seeks to overcome discrimination of the criminal elites. Powerful.
Lgbt and disabled together only make up about 18% of the population… so seems about right.
And yet even that is enough to have some people say it’s tp much and EVERYTHING has been turned gay and “woke”
Ya give them more chances and screen time, so production houses go bankrupt
Next up: more shit that doesnt matter at 5:30
I miss fat actors. James Gandolfini was a treasure.
