“They will try martial law again by addressing their shortcomings after they have failed once. When that time comes, we, the citizens, along with the Democratic Party of Korea and our lawmakers, will step forward and fight to ensure victory.”

“The risk of provoking North Korea and eventually leading to military conflict is significantly high. Dear citizens, we need your vigilance and solidarity.”

Hundreds of opposition lawmakers and party members gathered in front of the National Assembly on Wednesday to call for the resignation and impeachment of president Yoon.

Yoon declared martial law in a live TV address late on Tuesday (November 4) night, only to reverse course six hours later after parliament defied police and special forces cordons to vote to block the move.

Six South Korean opposition parties planned to submit a bill early on Wednesday afternoon calling for Yoon’s impeachment, Seoul’s Yonhap News Agency reported. A vote on the bill may be held on Dec 6 or 7, Yonhap added.
