I was not aware that this was a thing…

  1. Si(e)de-Gebäck – cheating snack^ ^

There’s a discount for a certain number of bussies so the prices are reasonable btw

  2. Since this is flaired as Humor, I guess the joke is that “bussy” is slang for butthole (butt or boy pussy). If the wanted to name it after the soft kiss, that would be a “Bussi”.

  3. Oh, you should see Edeka, the Norma is making Umbau, so most things went up 35-50% in price, but my particular favorite was the normally 1.80 butter that is 30% reduced from 2.90 (because it expires today, and still more expensive than normally… Just to abstract from the gay joke here.

  4. Well, the usual spelling would be “Bussi”, and those things are usually called “Quarkbällchen”. But the fact that this German word happens to remind you of an obscure English word that isn’t appropriate for polite company doesn’t make this inappropriate for a German bakery.

It only becomes an issue if you’re trying to market them internationally: examples include Vic, which is branded in Germany as “Wick” so that people won’t pronounce it like the German word for “fuck”, or the Mitsubishi Pajero, which in Spanish-speaking countries is called the Montero because “pajero” means “wanker”.

As it is, this is basically on the level of a German hearing somebody say that their dog had had four pups, and saying, “Hurr hurr hurr, she said ‘fart’!”

  5. in german “bussy” translates to “little kiss”

thinking about bussy in a sexual way is like saying a pedometer can tell whos a pedophile xD

  6. Is it because Bussy sounds like pussy to you?

I believe there was no pun intended.

The owners just didn’t know how to spell “Bussi” (kiss).

  7. Wait what were you not aware of, that those things are called „Bussi“ or that they are on sale for 1.45 instead of being 0.65?
