Saw a number of scam posts here recently. In case some people don’t know, it’s also a scam. Especially if you’re Mama, not Papa. Or if you don’t have any children at all

  1. You don’t even know that your Tochter changes her number?? What a disgrace of a Vater you are!

  2. I’ve received this multiple times too and have been suspicious. I am curious how it works though. What happens if you respond?

  3. I know it is a scam, but can anybody explain how this specific scam works? Since they already have the number of the potential victim, why do they want the victim to contact them via WhatsApp? Why don’t they start the conversation via WhatsApp?
And what will be the outcome in the end?

  4. Man, yours too? My daughter seems to get a new phone every other day. I’m getting tired of sending that same WhatsApp message all the time. I wish she’d take better care of her stuff. smdh

  5. Kenne einen der mit hdf geantwortet hat, der scamer hat sich tierisch aufgeregt und hat ebenfalls beleidigungen rausgeschossen.

  6. I’ve received a couple with “Hallo Papa/Mama”, apart from those split 50-50 between “Papa” and “Mama” (I’m neither anyway…). Properly identified and blocked by Google’s filter, but I still get to review them and have a laugh.

  7. I’m always tempted to add them on whatsapp just to troll them 😅

  8. I have old parents and implemented sibling-two-factor-authentification.

  9. Yay, I didn’t even know I was a dad! Should I demand a DNA Test? 😅

  10. Glad I have a Google Pixel. I don’t get those messages because Google filters them out as spam

  11. I get this at least twice a week.

Sometimes when I’m bored, I get into a pointless, circular discussion with them.

  12. This scam has been around for month now. How have you not heard about it yet?

  13. Fuck, how do they find us? I left my daughter in front of a church.

  14. These always make me laugh, I got one once where they said they were looking for a handsome man to marry their sister

  15. This is the first one I see with flawless orthography.

  16. Ja I have received this exact text multiple times. Looks like they don’t even change the script

  17. Is there something you can do to stop them scamming people which fall for this trick?

(obviously they will write thousands of people and they’ll find someone who belives them in good faith)

I mean they’re using german mobile numbers +49, there must be a way to stop those scammers stealing money from good people….

  18. Hallo Sohn, der nie geboren wurde. Viele Grüße in Anderwelt!

  19. Hatte letztens auch so ne SMS.Wusste bis dahin gar nicht, dass ich Vater bin…Dachte immer, ich wäre (wenn überhaupt) ne Mutter.
Aber gut,man lernt nie aus. 🤌🏻

  20. Answer and take their time so they cant spend it on more vulnerable targets.

When they notice they’ll also never try for u again.

  21. Last time I got something like that, I responded:

    Anna?
    – Yes, it’s me! I lost my phone… Can you send me money?

    I don’t know any Anna

  22. Mine was so lazy that they said “Papa/Mama”. I was like wow.
I don’t reply because I don’t want them to know that the phone number even is active.

  23. German authorities won’t do anything about it because the money made by scammers is washed through cars, banks, and real estate. Everyone gets a nickel.

  24. Just answer normally, see that there is definitely another person and not a bot on the other end. It’s very crucial for the next step.

    Send pictures of mutilated bodies
