Help I voted to gut Medicare and Social Security. Now I can’t get a walker to help me. Now I’m being evicted from my home.
I am a tired late Boomer who did not vote Republican and countless of my friends did not either. Throw your blame at the pearl clutching southern Baptist, not the boomers who were raised in the generation of freedom where political satire was normal and racism had about been worked out. Can you imagine Blazing Saddles coming out now? We threw away our bras and tried to promote love and peace. I worked at 15 and beyond, and my SS is the money I put in. I served in the military and they want to remove those benefits as well. Fuck the Republicans that want to eliminate the care I receive and want to leave me penniless after all I have worked and sacrificed for. Fuck you for trying to belittle the people who sacrificed for you to have the lifestyle of freedom you grew up with. I’m a boomer and I didn’t vote for Trump but the hate I feel from young people who think I did definitely hurts. I’m a retired Union worker and have never in my life voted Republican. There are lots of Boomers who hated Trump and all he represents but we get this blanket hate on Reddit. I hate to tell ya this but a lot of you younger folks voted for him or sat it out over Gaza so your just as much at fault for the horror that’s coming. This is how Putin is destroying America by dividing us up into groups that are angry at each other using social media. I feel a whole lot of the blame goes to the Media moguls that beat down Biden and Harris while raising up Trump. They want the Tax breaks and loop holes and very few of them if any are on the left these days because they are the rich. I also have to say if the Democrats had given the people what they want like universal healthcare and the pro act so we could unionize and raise wages we wouldn’t be in the place.
