***The Telegraph reports:***
The King has revealed his joy that Morrisons supermarkets “still have a butchery counter”.
The monarch, 76, said he was “so glad” that the supermarket had retained the meat counter because “no one else does”.
His comments came during a visit on Wednesday morning to Notting Hill, London, where he met a group of Morrisons workers while thanking Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) staff and volunteers.
He praised the supermarket’s butchery counter despite having reportedly cut his intake of red meat in his preferred “flexitarian” diet, consisting largely of fresh and organic produce.
The King has previously revealed that he abstains from meat and fish on two days of the week, also excluding dairy on a third day.
Tom Parker Bowles, the Queen’s food critic and author son, said recently that the King had significantly reduced his intake of some foods, particularly red meat, since being diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.
Speaking to Saga magazine, Mr Parker Bowles said: “Yes, I eat meat, but I go easy on the red meat – as does my mother. And the King, after what he’s been through recently, is looking again at what – and when – he eats.”
The King’s comments about the meat counter delighted the Morrisons representatives at his engagement, and they told him they would take his positive feedback to headquarters.
The King also met with volunteers and aid workers who have worked on the Middle East and Ukraine humanitarian appeals.
At St Peter’s Church in Notting Hill, he also heard first-hand from aid workers who have recently returned from war-torn Gaza. The church has supported the Middle East humanitarian cause through Tearfund, a DEC member charity.

Me too king, me too.
The man’s never gone shopping in his life and has his meat brought to his cooks directly by his personal butler
Are we meant to think this means he’s relatable?
Well I’m glad all the other worldly issues have been fixed and this is news
Waitrose has one. I bet other shops do too
I reckon he gets the cross crosses over the wedges, man of taste
I just wish they’d have Billy Bear in at the meat counter more often. Rarely see it now. It’s the best sandwich meat ever to grave this green earth.
