  1. So who’s “falling” out a window next? The cousin, the rebukes, or both?

  2. If she actually called the Special Military Operation a “war,” which it is of course, we might soon need to refer to her as Putin’s late cousin.

  3. I hope she’s not drinking tea and looking out the window this morning

  4. Everybody is running with some wild narrative, the relevant part of the article and the only number “revealed” was…

    >Anna Tsivileva, who is Russia’s[ current Deputy Minister of Defense and a state secretary](https://www.newsweek.com/putin-promotes-cousin-anna-tsivileva-state-secretary-1940972), was admonished during a statement to the Duma in which she revealed that authorities had received 48,000 DNA test requests from those searching for and identifying missing soldiers.

  5. From article: she revealed that authorities had received 48,000 DNA test requests from those searching for and identifying missing soldiers.

  6. Seems like even family can’t get away with spilling secrets in the world of politics.

  7. This is hard to comprehend. For reference, the US lost less than 500k in both the Western and Pacific fronts in WW2 combined.

  8. The thing is that’s only for the bodies that they can’t identify the Dead but actually have the body. There’s a lot more bodies that were blown to hell.. I don’t see Russian soldiers under fire pulling out swabs to collect body fluids of their buddy that just got blown to bits. Point being there’s a heck of a lot more dead than that 48,000.

  9. The Putin government is like Trumps.

    Filled with relatives.

    So many similarities.

  10. So 48,000 DNA test for russians who is not in one piece. By all accounts russia lost about 250,000 soldiers either confirmed dead, captured or missing and double that for those who are injured. This does not count the paid foreign fighters or Wagner fighters.

  11. Seems low on listening to Ukraine government propaganda.

  12. This could very well be misinformation. And planted information.

  13. So when relatives search for them, it’s just the ones that they claim are missing, not the confirmed death, right?

  14. Putin’s inner circle, and the Gov structure for eons, is absolute secrecy, or they fall out a window.

  15. So we now know that there are 48000 unidentified dead Russian soldiers. That is a staggering number probably 10% of the actual real deaths.

  16. There’s an EU4 event for everything, isn’t there? Like this one:

    > A close member of the family of our ruler has proven utterly naive, and keeps telling foreigners vital information publicly. This is technically treason, but executing a member of the royalty might cause unrest

     > Execute her for treason (-10 prestige)

     > She is a relative after all… (-25% national spy defense)

  17. My advice to her is to avoid buildings with more than one floor.

  18. What! She’s not falling out a window or overboard from a Black Sea Russian Cruiser? Oh, wait, here’s a bed waiting for her somewhere north of the Artic Circle!

  19. Not necessarily the most useful information but could perhaps be extrapolated to reveal other numbers. My experience as a Russian history major and amateur historian is that sometimes the actual casualties in their actions were discovered to be higher than even Russian internal records showed. One of the few nations where Ukraine’s possibly inflated numbers might turn out to be right or even low.

  20. Idky im always shocked when i hear he has family. I just assume he walked straight out of hell as a fully grown adult in a suit.

  21. Did she recently fall to her death from a 4th story window?

  22. I think she should stay away from stairwells and multi-story buildings for a while….

  23. And then she had a terrible fall from a window.

  24. What figures?

Sigh, clickbait article eluding that some big mystery reveal on actual war casualties.

There was too much stupid popups and shit on the website. But I don’t see any numbers revealed short of some requests for DNA results and Ukraine’s own estimate.

  25. What pull does being Putin’s cousin give you in that culture?
