  11. I think it’s more like “50000 families gave DNA samples to help identify MIA soldiers”. So the MIA count would be ~50000 + those who haven’t supplied DNA samples + those who no one is looking for (no family).

    But that might be wishful thinking.

  12. This seems like one of those “leaks” where you push propaganda and try to sweeten it by making it seem like it was some secret truth that slipped out.

    Given that Russia has been forcing Ukraine to collect Russian dead since the start of the war, I seriously doubt the number of Russian missing in action is only 50 thousand. In a war where Russia has suffered three quarters of a million casualties and has completely lost control of casualty dynamics there is no way that they have fully accounted for over 90% of their losses.

    They are just trying to pretend that the situation isn’t as bad as everyone knows it is.
