Senegal president says France should close army bases in country • FRANCE 24 English

Senegal’s President Bassirou Diomaye Faye told AFP Thursday that France should close its military bases in the West African state as it prepared to mark the 80th anniversary of a notorious colonial slaughter. Faye said that France’s President Emmanuel Macron had admitted that his country’s troops were responsible for a “massacre” of Senegalese soldiers in 1944.

  1. Remember, it's not enough to say France should close its Military outposts in Senegal. It should be legally binding by both laws; French and Senegal.

  2. France is losing it's colonial and imperialist stronghold in Francophone West African countries. France looking elsewhere and recently invited my unserious president Tinubu of Nigeria to France. I cry for my country.

  3. Imagine having to explain yourself for making a decision like this? Like how many foreign military bases are there in France?
