I work in hospice which is a Medicare benefit. I wouldn’t be surprised if they cut that benefit and let patients and families suffer more.

Do people realize what they’re talking about right here is letting people on disability die? People rely on Social Security disability to survive.
By doing away with Medicare, millions of senior citizens, who rely on life saving medications, will die.
By doing away with Social Security, millions of senior citizens will become homeless.
What Republicans are really talking about is the Purge of the disabled and the elderly who rely on these safety nets and entitlements. Republicans are a death cult. But fear not. The Billionaires who put these policies in place will not feel a thing. They will step over the homeless as they exit their luxury condos on the way to their limos.
And just like he said he had no idea what Project 2025 was all about – a lot of the people and plans for his administration are already in place and many of the people were from where??? You guessed it – Project 2025!
Trump may not be up for reelection, but the vast majority of Congress will be at some point. I don’t think cutting existing payments will win any votes from the one group of voters who reliably show up – old folks. Cutting benefits for those not already collecting Social Security could be different.
It’s what conservatives and non-voters wanted. They were warned and with their vote and apathy they said “this is approved”. When people later complain I will ask if they voted for Harris and if the answer is no then I will shrug and say “I don’t get the problem. It’s what you wanted.”
If they are ending social security, can I have the money I’ve been contributing since I was a teenager back, then?

Honestly if it weren’t for my parents (who both voted for Harris) I would say fucking do it and make the elderly people who voted for him pay for it. But I also know that many innocent people would suffer as a result, so no, I don’t actually want it to happen.

Same routine as always, just trick people into thinking that “their” money is going to some group that they don’t like, and they’ll be excited to cancel that program, even if they are a part of it too.
What’s so interesting is that red states are the biggest users of social welfare services and funding, continuously voting in Republicans who never work for their interest, blaming Democrats regardless, and then still expecting the same repub leaders to solve the problems. What circle jerk
Yes because you voted for him because you are wealthy enough and you really wanted the capital gain structure to change, you want reduction you want more tax credits and if you’re solidly middle class or above oh well you have plenty of money otherwise than depending on Medicare or social security.
But the amazing coup is that the rank and file of his voters that did vote for him waving the flag, worried about illegal immigrants and who’s using what bathroom are the ones that are truly going to get screwed.. But no matter, they never understood this and the cult just takes a slurp off of whatever Kool-Aid is offered even though it may kill them..
There is absolutely nothing new here in Donald’s program. It’s just that he’s a Maverick and such a cross horrible in articulate deliverer. But deliver he does for the far right, for heritage 25 andSharia law Evangelical style, for America. This has been their wet dream since 1932, to repeal, claw back the entire New deal and take it beyond that as long as they have the steam behind them. They are hell-bent on this process and there’s absolutely nothing new regarding Donald’s program for anybody that has a brain that understands the trajectory and the mission statement of the GOP especially from the ’80s on. This is just the tree finally bearing fruit for them.
And wait till you see how they solidified into law oh yeah.
