Tom Sykes is at it again – this one claims that “three separate friends” of Camilla have come out to complain on her behalf. I’m curious to see how this approach lands with people…

  1. I guess a lot of people had a brutal year then. Not sure to blame the palace – did it release this virus going around?

  2. I take Tom Sykes with a grain of salt, but this is hilarious

**”she is suspected to have contracted the disease during the recent state visit to Australia and Samoa or shortly thereafter. The friend said: “At 77, to be shipped off to the other side of the world to shake hands with thousands of people when your husband has cancer is, quite frankly, too much to ask. Camilla would never complain, and of course she wanted to support her husband, but she never should have been put in that situation. And she got pneumonia as a result. I hope this makes the mandarins sit up and take notice.”**

The Australia tour was obviously Charles’ decision, his briefing said he doesn’t want to be a caretaker King and wants to do as much as possible in his reign, so If Camilla has a problem with that, she should be speaking to her husband??

Also, it’s as possible that she contracted the infection on her 2 resort visits, rather than the tour

**”One friend said: “People forget that Camilla never set out to be queen. She never signed up for the hamster wheel. She just happened to fall in love with a prince. She has risen to the demands of the job but she finds it exhausting.”**

Love this as well, since it comes after 2 years of Camilla’s friends speaking about how she played the long game and won the game of thrones, so trying to revive the 90s narrative is so funny to me

  3. I think the most recent statements made by royals or their friends towards the end of this year have been pretty atrocious on the privilege front. Most of the world is facing some degree of financial recession and the royals aren’t reading the room.

I don’t wish harm or illness on any other human, but my sympathy meter definitely trends more towards folks who are going through illness without unlimited money; premier healthcare, supreme job flexibility, and full household staffs.

  4. lol – brutal. Man these people would never survive in the real world

  5. I’m sure pneumonia is no walk in the park but to complain between vacations while 2 members of your family are battling cancer *during a cost of living crisis* is a choice. Whew.

    🎻

  6. It’s from Tom skyes so I would take this with a grain of salt but lol this is hilarious. Whoever is his source is pretty stupid and does her no favour. If she’s blaming palace does it mean she’s blaming her own staff ? since it’s BP who’s running everything under her and Charles order. It’s not like other members or staff are forcing her to do engagements or go on tour. It’s ironic how on one hand both C&C don’t want to pass on duties to William (in order to net let public feel they are giving up the baton and whole caretaker King BS) and on the other hand she is complaining about duties 🤷‍♀️ I don’t hate Camilla and even have bit of respect for her for being out doing multiple engagements when Charles was ill. But if she wants rest she can do so without complaining. And frankly no one notices her absence when it’s not a big event

  7. Yeah her “brutal year” gave her pneumonia….or it’s a disease a lot of people get this time of year????

  8. It’s pretty amazing that both Charles and William managed to marry the laziest women in England.

  9. Knew she hated the tour. Her attitude during certain parts of it was ridiculous

  10. Well then she should quit, give back and stop tacking more money from the state / “private” dutchies and live her own life.

  11. I still keep thinking of QE2 whenever anyone just says “the Queen”

    🤦🏻‍♀️

  12. I never understand who is behind these Tom Sykes pieces.

Whether it’s about William, Camilla, Charles, or Harry the subject always seems to look awful. And in the prior three cases it’s always these insufferable “friends” speaking on their behalf, making them sound so whiny, cruel and detached from reality. Why is this? Do these articles actually reflect their opinions or what they tell their friends? I hope not . . .

  13. “Camilla never set out to be queen….She just happened to fall in love with a prince.”
    LOL

  14. “Makes the mandarins sit up and take notice”

Who are mandarins?  What even is this?

Also I love that someone thought it was a good idea to complain about how hard it was for Camilla on that trip because her husband has cancer, when he was on that same trip and hasn’t complained.  Granted I can never tell if Tom Sykes intentionally makes his subjects look like assholes or not.

  15. This is so messy. The paragraph about William… girl, what are you doing? The two things have nothing to do with eachother unless you’re saying he should be doing more which if you’re going to say it, say it. Otherwise it just makes you look petty for complaining that a guy whose wife had cancer said it’s been the toughest test of his life.
