  1. They should wear them. Let him be singled out for outdated beliefs.

  2. They did it because of just one player? Anyone can make a difference after all.

  3. The player is allegedly citing his faith. It would be interesting to know if he had discussed this with people in his mosque or his family.

  4. Wonder how this would go if it was a gay player refusing to support Islam because of its inherent homophobia…something tells me they wouldn’t just drop the initiative…

  5. Out of approximately 2000 professional footballers in the UK there is one players who has come out as gay…

    No wonder is it…

  6. It’s wild that anti-LGBT+ sentiment is on such a rise whilst also being completely unjustified and unjustifiable. Nothing has happened. Nothing has changed. There have been no inciting incidents or issues or problems. Every reason used by bigots is farcical at best and disingenuous or complete nonsense at worst.

It seems to just be simply the amount of bigotry and hatred now being platformed, often for personal gain and attention, and people feeling comfortable expressing discriminatory and exclusionary opinions without fear of being shamed.
