[OC] Distribution of Llamas in the US

  1. Can confirm the data, my county is in the top 5. I’ve been here 35 years and the lamas were here before me.

  2. This and the Alpaca map from earlier have taught me something. I grew up thinking South American domesticated mammals were a normal thing and any time you went out driving in the country you’d see wave after wave of these things. You never know you live in a bubble until you see it on r/dataisbeautiful.

  3. I need to see the map of winamp distribution to see if it really does whip the llama’s arse.

  4. Llamas are frequently used as pack animals for deep back country hunting.

    They will carry a moderate amount of weight all day at 3 mph up a mountain trail. Minimal maintenance and easy to get along with.

    Great animals to pack in your camp and pack out your elk.

    Edit:i guess lots of midstates have tiny counties. What a lot of admin!
