In a divisive time, this really does seem to be the only thing both sides agree on.

  1. Nah, I enjoy his takes since he actually calls both sides on their bullshit. I don’t always agree with him but I do enjoy the discussions most of the time.

  2. I wish I had the confidence Bill Mahar has when he’s really spouting off about a topic he just heard about 10 seconds before. The look in his eye when he really gets going about some nonsense is almost inspiring. Like that kid who just figured out they could make a fart sound with their armpit and hand.

  3. When he went after Stan Lee after he died and adults mourning his passing, I was out. Bill hasn’t been relevant since the late 2000’s at most.

  4. I always thought that Maher looked like someone put a bipedal weasel in an expensive suit.

  5. I get the feeling (despite appearance to the contrary) that even Bill Maher hates Bill Maher

  6. He’s one of those rare people that is such a tremendous asshole that when he says something I agree with I question my own position. And sanity.

  7. Bill Maher had a far better show when he was so stoned he couldn’t follow the conversation. His conservatism has leaked through his fake progressive mask and it’s obvious he supports nearly all Republican ideas. I gave up hope on him when he started his antivaxx bullshit. It was pure karma when he said time and time again that Americans don’t need the COVID vaccine. All they had to do it eat right and not be “fat”. Then he caught COVID and the fact he was vaccinated probably saved his life at his age. He only got vaccinated when they told him he couldn’t do his show until he got the shot. So he made a big deal on the show claiming he “had to take one for the team”. Bullshit, he’s a greedy fuck who couldn’t afford to have his restaurants under water and no income from the show at the same time. He was irate because he lost money when California shutdown his restaurants during COVID.

That sack of shit even had a running affair with Ann Coulter of all fucking people. Ann Coulter! I wondered why Ann Coulter was showing up on celebrity comedy roasts and it was because he was pulling the strings to get her on the shows.

  8. heh, the personally funny thing about this image is that I used to hate him from the right and now I hate him from the left

  9. I dunno. I’m starting feel like maybe we could add shooting CEOs to that list.

    What, too soon?

  10. He has an oppositional personality that has to shit on everything and everyone, even if they seem to align with whatever his latest principles are. Combined with his smug demeanor I think he’d be a terrible house guest, but I guess it works as a talk show host. Ultimately he’s a longtime bachelor boomer who’s still mad he can’t go to any more parties at the Playboy mansion

  11. It’s still hard for me to believe it’s the same guy that made Religolous.

  12. There is a podcast called I Hate Bill Maher. Check it out.

  13. I don’t like it when he makes his nonsense comment “I didn’t change, the party changed” in reference to the Democratic Party.

Of course the party has changed! That’s how the passage of time works. Liberal parties want progress and by definition will change.

He doesn’t want to admit that he’s an old man with old man ideas.

  14. He’ll come back in a year and be like “why I left the left” and suspiciously have a ridiculously high salary from a shady investor on rumble or something like that

  15. It’s the constant interrupting he does to his guests, I just want them to tell their story or what not, not listen to Bill interrupt and try and be funny or smart. Shut the hell up and get out of the way.

  16. I liked his movie Religulous, but that was a long time ago and I can’t stand his talk show.

  17. I dunno, I’ve been seeing a lot of people on both sides hating on United Health today.

  18. He crossed the line from funny to asshole years ago

  19. My first introduction to him was when he did his religion documentary thing, and he was chosen to announce the best documentary at that year’s Oscars. He spent the whole time talking about how great his documentary was.

Everything he’s said and done since then has just reinforced that self-important egotistic jerk image I’ve had of him

  20. He said once, back in the Bush times, that Americans are stupid. He got some backlash for it, but he wasn’t wrong.

I find him whiny and pretentious, but he at least understands that liberals are their own worst enemies.

  21. Well, he’s fucking Anne Coulter (allegedly), so he’s been certainly catching some “conservative” bugs

  22. Honestly I think Maher is right on a lot of topics and just gets a little crass as he gets older.

He’s got a point about wasting money on things like traveling to Mars. He’s got a point on opposing EPA deregulation. He also points out the absolute idiocy of each party. Plus he sets up a platform for talking heads to get called out for their bullshit.

  23. What about getting money out of politics?Don’t we agree on that?

  24. I grew up watching bill mahr when I was younger with my folks and still tune in. I’ve said this numerous times – “I agree with about 95% of what Bill says, but I can’t stand the way he says it. Smug asshole”

  25. I used to like him but he’s gotten excessively whiny. Like I usually get where he’s coming from but he’s almost always missing the forest for the trees these days.

One thing that has ALWAYS pissed me off about him though is how he will get some of the greatest minds of our generation on the show AND TALK OVER THEM. Let them talk Bill!
