From net salary subtract the taxes (including student “loan”) then subtract rent if they’re renting as well (as that is usually a cost that comes with a job now (as most people have to move for work).
Then that number is realistically comparable to what Boomers live on.

I say approximately because I’m self-employed and my income fluctuates. We’re content with our life though, largely because we aren’t grasping, entitled shits.
