Who’s swimming in the sea in December ?
This was normal where I lived in the 70s. Our village sewage pipe went straight into the Firth of Forth. The little tampons used to float past when you went swimming. We didn’t know what they were when we were children and called them sea mice. That part of the coast locally was known as “sea mouse bay”.
My earliest memory of going to the beach in England is that it was totally full of raw sewage and I couldn’t go in the sea. Been doing this forever…
