It’s probably less for N. Korean soldiers.
The piano keys were still warm when they came for him.
Dmitri sat in the Moscow Conservatory practice room and he knew. The sound of boots in the hallway was not for music.
His fingers trembled over the Rachmaninoff. The door opened.
Two men in uniforms stood there with papers. Papers that meant Myrnohrad. Papers that meant two weeks if you were lucky. One if you weren’t.
“Shit,” Dmitri said. And that was all.
His mother made borscht that night. The last borscht. She kept stirring it and stirring it and crying into the pot.
His father drank vodka and said nothing. The silence was worse than the crying.
“Maybe I will write a symphony about the war,” Dmitri said. He tried to smile. His father poured another shot.
“The only music in Myrnohrad is artillery,” his father said. “And fucking drones.”
The borscht got cold. His mother wouldn’t stop hugging him. His father finally spoke again.
“In Afghanistan we at least had mountains to hide behind,” he said. “In Myrnohrad there is only mud and steel and death.”
Dmitri packed his bags. No piano. No sheet music. Just a rifle they would give him and bullets that would find him.
His fingers would forget Rachmaninoff. They would learn to pull triggers instead.
The next morning was gray like Moscow mornings always were. His mother made blini. His father was already drunk.
The truck came at noon. It was green and dirty and full of boys like him.
Some had been students. Some had been nothing. Now they were all the same.
His mother crossed herself. His father saluted with his vodka bottle.
“Play some Rachmaninoff for the angels,” his father said.
And then the truck drove away.
On average, mosquitos only live for two weeks.

I have a genuine question – are people here really naive enough to believe everything that comes out of kyivindpendent or euromaidanpress without pausing for a minute to think could it be propaganda or they know it’s propaganda and unironically boost it ?
They are better off trying to kill Putin than kill a Ukrainian.
Russia is sending in newborns now???
Zero sources, reads like fan fic
You know its bad when Putin militia army in Syria got overrunned and he is begging N Korea for another 50,000 troops.
Putin mad. Putin follow Stalin strategy of throwing men at bullets until enemy runs out of bullets. Putin does not like that enemy is getting new bullets.
However bleak and shity it is this tactic is working. They are gaining land, it’s shit but it’s unfortunately true.
I also spoke to some Russians recently who were obviously victims to the state propaganda, they were very pleased with the war and said ” it needed to be done and we will reunite them soon”…. So Putin’s tactics are working 🙁
Slava Ukraini
Can we get it down to 13 days?
Asking for Ukraine
Two weeks life expectancy? Are they trebucheting babies or something?
That motherf..ker Antony Blinken
United States Secretary of State told Ukraine that they have to make hard decisions.
USA can supply the weapons and munitions but Blinken said that “Ukraine has to lower the conscription age.”
Ukraine doesn’t want to lower the conscription age , as that is the generation who will expected to have children, get married and have families.
We can learn from history.
“Make peace, you fools! What else can you do?” Germany’s highest ranking and most respected Field Marshal Gerd von Rundstedt bellowed out to his army chiefs and slammed down the receiver, when asked what they should do against the allied advance.
That is why he was a Field Marshal and
Antony Blinken is not.
That fool Blinken is condemning the youngest, bravest and best of Ukrainian manhood to a death sentence.
Russia really out here playing Warhammer 40k in real life.
Seems quite unlikely.
Why do you post news from Euromaidan? Is it a trustful source? I highly doubt.
My friend has a relative that is in the frontline starting from summer 2022. He is a professional officer and previously worked in Russian’s Secret Service. And he is still alive.
I do not say that Russia dies not suffer from major casualties, I just highly doubt that Ukrainian – backed website is a good source for such information
