I personally like the reasoning of such measures a lot: it’s served it’s purpose, there is little less to gain, keeping it around would only be an annoyance to certain people without any significant upside; so lets get rid of it.
Very rarely we see measures/laws that were introduced for a specific reason being reverted once they achieved the goal.
With the LEZ you still have options how to move around.
When you live in a busy narrow street, then you live in an unhealthy area, there are no options to improve the air quality in your house.
