  1. >*Konstantin is the crew commander of the Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled artillery installation. Since September 2024, his unit has shot down a dozen air targets. Together with his comrades, he performs combat missions in the eastern direction. The guys shoot down everything that flies into the area of the installation and meets its tactical and technical characteristics: enemy attack drones, reconnaissance UAVs, cruise and guided air missiles.*

    >*Gepards have become an important part of Ukrainian air defense today. Although they were developed to cover columns of military equipment on the march, the installations have proven themselves well in various fields. In our realities, we also use these installations for positional air defense: we shoot down various means of air attack, with which the enemy tries to target important state objects.*

    >*Kostya has been in the army since January 2024. He is an auto mechanic by civilian profession. Worked at the maintenance service. After receiving the summons, he did not hesitate and did not run away. The next day he arrived at the military headquarters. Then – basic military training, mastering the Tunguska anti-aircraft missile system at the training center.*

    >*After training, I was offered to fight on the German installation “Gepard”. I immediately agreed, because the “machine” is easier to use, has automated guidance systems, and this significantly reduces the time to find a target and shoot it down.
My crew are ordinary guys from peaceful professions who until recently were afraid to go to the army, but today they are defending the sky from Russian attacks. We may not be in the army for a long time, but I know for sure that we will be there until the end, until victory!*

  2. Brazil bought some 30 (I guess) of them in the late 2010s

Back then Brazil also bought enough ammo for the life circle of all tubes (which is a way more then we need for keeping proficiency)

When Germany first sent Gepards to Ukraine, they offered to buy back what Brazil still had of its ammo (which is a plenty) with interest and profit for Brazil

But, once and again, Brazilian coward leadership was treating both sides as equals in order to not displease Putin

  3. NGL that looks uncannily like a Front Mission Wanzer peaking out over the hill in the 4th photo

  4. I wonder if Finnish army is thinking of either buying these or restarting the training of Leopard Marksman crews. They stopped training crews for marksman at one point.
