  1. Name from the Middle East takes over name from the Middle East

  2. This article comes around every couple of years. Another cheap attempt to try and outrage people

  3. Most of the people I have met who are named Muhammed go by their second name, so although it may be the most popular name given to boys it probably isn’t the most used name.

  4. There were 591,000 babies born in 2023. 4,661 were called Mohammed.

  5. I swear to Allah, the world would literally be a better place if everyone studied pure statistics at school.

  6. I’m sure everyone is going to be extremely normal about this.

  7. Genuine question: who has ever met a noah in the UK? No wonder Muhammad overtakes Noah as top baby boy name in UK.

  8. So, a relatively large minority of people that have a tendency to stick to a smaller group of names, Muhammad (and variants) being very, very popular, overtakes the majority that have a much more wide-ranging taste in names? Cool. Looking at the top 10 it is the only name in there that would scare your average Telegraph/Daily Fail reader.

  9. Anyone actually thought about British birth rates being down for the first time in ages? Probably why? British people factually aren’t giving birth as often as they use to be.

Edit: I’m pretty sure this article is just rage bait now.

  10. Swapping one religious name for another. Really not reflective of our atheist nation.

  11. This year is Muhammad, last year was Muhammed, two years ago Mohammed..

  12. Wasn’t Olivia the most popular girls name in London recently?! Grrrr

  13. Is this because there are more Muhammads or that people have been trying harder and harder to come up with tragedeighs to name their children in the rest of the population?

  14. Not surprised in the slightest, plus I’ve never met a Noah before so how can that be the 2nd most popular boys name?

  15. How many years in a row is this? Plus other countries in Europe. Yikes.
