As part of its Clear into the Future program, DuPont recently collaborated with Little Forks Conservancy, awarding grants to enhance local ecosystems and promote community volunteerism.
DuPont employees and community volunteers planted over 580 native trees and shrubs across two nature preserves in Midland County.
Clear into the Future well exceeded its goal of planting 200 trees at the Averill Preserve and Nelson Woods. This year’s efforts also included the removal of invasive plant species, such as autumn olive and buckthorn, to help improve local biodiversity and promote the growth of native ecosystems.
“We’re grateful for DuPont’s support through the Clear into the Future grant, which empowers us to enhance our nature preserves along the Tittabawassee River and build a more resilient future,” said Elan Lipschitz, Executive Director of Little Forks Conservancy. “Working alongside DuPont volunteers, we’re making a tangible difference together in our community.”
DuPont employees volunteered four days of service at Nelson Woods and the Averill Preserve, contributing 60 hours to plant trees, remove invasive species and construct new trails for future public access.
“Thanks to this relationship with DuPont, we are restoring vital local habitats and revitalizing our land along the Tittabawassee River,” said Paddy Hobohm, Little Forks Conservancy Board member. “The efforts of DuPont volunteers have been invaluable, and we are fortunate to have this level of support in our community.”
“We are thrilled with the progress we’ve made through our relationship with Little Forks Conservancy and the enthusiastic participation of our employees in this year’s restoration efforts,” said Heather Litle, DuPont Community Impact Manager. “We are also excited to announce that our relationship will continue into 2025, furthering our collaboration with Little Forks Conservancy. Together, we can drive meaningful change, help promote sustainable practices, and build a stronger community for everyone.”
