A very infamous EU proposal that has been fought for over a year, which would endanger people's privacy by making it mandatory for messaging services to scan citizen's private messages and emails by the use of articial intelligence.
Users must agree to have their messages scanned or theyre not allowed to send pictures, links or videos anymore.
Poland used to have a strong opposition to it but a rumour stated Poland could flip for tomorow's vote.We need everyone to unite against it.
If it passes, some messaging services have stated they will be forced to leave the EU.

From the series: Governments are not your friends. Never have been, never will be. They’re by and large evil, inhumane organizations that if not stopped, eventually result in tyranny.
We also have a discord server set up to organize against it, you are more than welcome to join us to spread the word

I am also divided on this. I mean, you have blatant interference from China and Russia and others in our election process. Just look at what happened in Romania.
We also have no EU-CIA to go against such targeted networks, but is this worth it to control all of the messengers?
One correction OP: It’s not about “endangering” people’s privacy. It’s about ending it. It’s Stasi and SB on steroids, the wet dream of Erich Mielke come true. It’s deeply disturbing and dystopian.
Aren’t they holding hearings about spying on people?
Who would have guessed that liberal politicians would rather take away privacy rights than their right wing counterparts

Completely invade your citizens’ privacy for unusable results due to high amount of false positives…
Yeah…
Sure, if you love russian bots swarming the internet fight against this law.
Unfortunetly internet became extremly toxic due to bots+AI, getting rid of internet privacy and being able to identify who you’re talking to is the only way available to stop these bots from being extremely destructive to us and our society..
I will miss internet privacy a lot, but it’s time to restrict it for our own good.
Oh, the government just doing the government things! Like intrusive surveillance.
This will only eventually be used to stomp on the dissidents. Everyone they claim to want to put their foot on will find other way to send the “stuff” out. They actually already have ways to do it outside of govt control.
The EU be deporting me to russia when the self-hosted matrix server with encryption enabled?
The scary part is not them just listening, viewing and reading your messages. But it does start there. The question you have to ask yourself is, once they (government) gain access to such sensitive areas, how long before they’re able to “plant something undesirable” into that to make whoever they want seem unequivocally guilty.
That my friends, is what the endgame is, and that it’s absolutely terrifying.
Knowing our reverse Midas of a government (whatever they touch turns into crap), they’ll vote in favour.
