Worshippers flee as synagogue in Melbourne is set on fire in targeted attack

2. This is what “Globalizing the Intifada” means: violence against Jews globally. This is what people have been chanting and supporting.

   It’s time to wake up.

3. Shouldn’t need to be said but it’s unacceptable to destroy places of worship. Whether synagogues in Australia or mosques in Gaza.

   If this was some sort of anti Israeli action then, to my knowledge, it is even more misguided when you understand the stance of the minority of ultra orthodox Jewish people.

   However this attack should not be weaponised to silence voices critical of Israel. Antisemitism should always be called out but conflating anti Zionism with anti semitism will only create more antisemites and more damage to Jewish communities.

4. No matter what you think, violence based on targeting someone’s beliefs is abhorrent and unacceptable. Don’t condone this, and ESPECIALLY do not condone any sort of retaliation or place the blame on any other group. 

5. Remember when people said, “its not jews its zionism”; thats just become a fascist nazi dogwhistle. That and “go back to poland”. If you read both of these please realise you are dealing with a nazi, its straight up nazi dogwhistles.

   There is no other explanation.

6. I’m sure it was very peaceful and dialogue oriented group of people that set the place on fire. Certainly not anyone who is prone to violence and a history of using terror as a tool to get their way, surely not.

7. Has it been absolutely confirmed that this wasn’t an inside job for more attention and funding?

   I mean it’s not like this sort of stuff hasn’t happened before and things just go quiet when it’s figured out who the perps were.

9. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was an inside job. There is a history. [MI5 agent Annie Machon testified](https://youtu.be/jt3BqNYlIKM?si=VffqUsimtRpgMnVP) that Israel blew up its own embassy in London to justify more Israeli aid and security. Until more evidence comes to light, i’d be very suspicious of these initial reports.
