  3. Ukraine is boiling-frog hinting about re-arming their nuclear arsenal should they not get strong guarantees from their allies. I don’t blame them.

  5. Did you know Zelenskyy once highlighted that the memorandum was ineffective in preventing Russia’s aggression, including the 2014 annexation of Crimea and the ongoing war.

  6. The Ukrainian president added that in view of this, Ukraine needs effective guarantees: “real alliances and a realistic security foundation”, weapons for defence and “unity that helps endure even the most challenging moments”.

    I wonder if one or more of the NATO countries could form a defense pact like Sweden and Finland had. They wouldn’t be in NATO, but effectively would be in NATO…

  7. Any agreement is bound to fail if one party is not set on honoring it.
