ALERT: Warning for dangerous winds issued by Met Eireann as Storm Darragh set to hit Ireland hard

Met Eireann issued a Weather Warning for dangerous winds for all of Ireland with Storm Darragh set to hit. 

On Friday morning, Met Eireann issued a Status Orange Weather Warning for all of Ireland for Friday and Saturday on top of previous warnings already issued. 

The Status Orange Warning for all of Ireland comes into effect at 8pm on Friday for Munster and Connacht and 10pm for Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal. The warnings remain in place until 10am on Saturday. It warns that Storm Darragh will bring very strong and gusty northwest winds. Impacts will include fallen trees, damage to power lines, very difficult travelling conditions, damage to temporary structures and wave overtopping. 

There is a Status Yellow Rain warning for Clare, Connacht, Donegal, Cavan, Monaghan, Longford, Louth, Meath and Westmeath from 10am on Friday until 10am on Saturday. This warns that heavy rain on Friday will be followed by heavy showers Saturday morning.

There is also a Status Yellow Wind warning for all of Ireland from 3pm on Friday until 3pm on Saturday
