US President-elect Donald Trump says he has chosen people for two posts in his upcoming administration — White House chief for artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency policy, and ambassador to China.
Trump wrote on social media on Thursday that former PayPal executive David Sacks will be the “White House A.I. & Crypto Czar.”
Sacks was a chief operating officer of the US digital payment processor. Trump said, “David will focus on making America the clear global leader in both areas.”
The president-elect added, “He will work on a legal framework so the Crypto industry has the clarity it has been asking for, and can thrive in the US.”
Observers say Sacks will be tasked with easing regulations on cryptocurrencies — one of Trump’s campaign pledges.
Trump also announced online that he will tap former Senator David Perdue as ambassador to China. Perdue was a company CEO and is known for his close ties to Trump.
The president-elect wrote that Perdue is his loyal supporter and friend with a 40-year international business career.
Trump added, “He will be instrumental in implementing my strategy to maintain Peace in the region, and a productive working relationship with China’s leaders.”
