This fanaticism towards Russia is frustrating, no matter what they do , invading another country, making human rights violations , because they have “Slavic brothers” and “orthodox faith” as a response to all that

I’m from Serbia, so maybe I can explain this a bit better.
There was less than 1000 people in a city of 1,8 million. The ones that I see that hold speeches are well known far right extremists. Basically, we know they work for secret service, so this means:
* The government wants to control the narrative and control the extremists (and it works)
* … in order to impose sanctions on Russia in near future.
The sanctions will be imposed but they are scared of the extremists. This is how they control it.
I’m not justifying or saying that this approach is wrong or right, it’s just what I know from living here.
The vast majority supports Ukrainian people!
Just to add this. One of the leaders of this protest is the former president of the political party called Obraz, it’s a banned party bc it’s a neo Nazi one. Another one is the leader of a party who went everywhere to say he would “personally take care of Syrian refugees”. You can see who are in there at least the majority of them. It’s still disgusting and makes me sick but he’ll after finding out who is pretty much organising it and seeing someone I know boasting on Instagram being in there (he is a redstar hooligan and he is with his mates) I’m not surprised.

I wonder if anywhere in Russia is going to rebel with how weak the Russian army is?
Russia stood by them while NATO bombed their homes. What the fuck did you expect ?

A protest with few thousands in Belgrade is irrelevant. Kind of like an obscure sports event – a local 5 k run.
Serbia is a free country. There are tabloids for Russia, also there are tabloids about aliens, and newspapers that support USA, etc. There are protests for Russia and many other protests. I have seen various protests almost every single day for the past few months. Serbs love to protest and love extreme ideas as a way to define themselves.
However for protests to be relevant in Serbia you need to get closer to anti Milošević protests which had half a million easy, or anti Rio Tinto protests which blocked entire cities.
If Serbs really get upset, it will be against Putin and against NATO, not Ukrainian or Russian people. Then there will be at least few hundred thousand people blocking everything. Reddit will be full of them as well
Yet for some reason Kosovo is full of terrorists, primitives, etc…..

Also Serbia has an almost 80 year long tradition of being a “bridge” between West and the East, with the Non Aligned movement etc…So it all helps with blurring the image
