   I mean you don’t become part of a brutal decade long civil war not to overthrow the ruling authority, that would be silly. All this confirms is that there will be no negotiated deal.

   Whatever we’ve got to keep the story in the news.

2. An armed *resistance* of this size does not just spring up out of thin air.

   Where have they been for the last 5 years? Why did they emerge from the parts of Syria currently occupied by Turkey? Where did they get their funding? Who is providing them with weapons? Who is training them in the art of insurgency?

3. It’s very interesting that CNN is now happily giving a platform to terrorists. But hey, hopefully Assad and Putin will take care of these people as soon as Biden is gone.

4. There is no good ending here. It’s either Assad or a bunch of zealot fundies. If they win, Syria will still be a hellhole, and they will most likely start targeting western countries ala ISIS.
