They probably drink just a little too much alcohol there too.
Bloody hell, if the squares at Uni of Manny rank that highly, god knows where MMU would be.
Data reveals religious tendencies of the Pope. At 10: where DO bears shit? Stay tuned.
Data has also revealed that water is in fact a liquid, and Jaffa Cakes are indeed round
Not surprised because they’re all unserious students up there since all the unis are mediocre🤣 Lazy bums
Only russel group universities, so not really a true representation
There’s a lot of cultural differences tbh. I went to a uni in my undergrad where everyone smoked constantly. Every night on campus outside all of the student bars people would just openly light up a joint in the regular smoking area and no one bothered. I had one friend who was even growing some plants in his closet in his dorm room and apparently no one noticed or cared enough to do anything.
Then went off to do a PhD at another university where it was a rarity to see anyone smoke at all and most people seemed to spend their free time working out or playing sports.
That said I grew up near Sheffield and was always around weed as a kid. Even now as an adult when I go back to the area I find it a bit surprising how often you can smell it in the air (i.e. like *constantly* lol). For what its worth historically from what I gather it had a lot to do with deindustrialization and people looking for any way to make some money after the factories and foundries starting closing.
Just generally I think the fact that its still so fully illegal yet it has become so utterly pervasive in so many cities and towns really speaks to what a waste this all is. These people could be using the stuff in a properly licensed business paying tax and doing everything above board. I didn’t understand it as a stoner student 15 years ago and I still don’t understand it now as an adult who hasn’t touched the stuff in years.
Beacon institutions of knowledge, of which international students pay extortionate fees to attend.
Delightful, _‘inject it’_ as it were.
What a load, it’s Everywhere. What a dog whistle non story. Please don’t waste your time.
God imagine spending 100k and having a 9% tax the rest of your life just to be a stoner for 3 years.
I’d be getting every ounce of value from the degree
Next they’ll be saying that students also drink excessive amounts of alcohol 😮
I went to Staffordshire Uni. Considering it is, basically, in the middle of nowhere. There was a massive weed scene there.
I went to a northern uni but I arrived with my own stash/supply, even if I hadn’t I would have been able to get hold of some immediately as a guy had slipped his business card under all of the flats in our halls before we all actually moved in.
I was gonna say “it’s 2024, why are people still smoking weed?” but then I realised it’s more appropriate to say “it’s 2024, why are people still smoking anything?”
Glad they spent time and money investigating this. There’s literally nothing else more worthy in the world of looking into
