  3. Don’t forget French incompetence. Pierre dug too deep during the digging, so there’s a burrowing machine stuck under the channel to this very day.

  5. Who would get more money of that tunnel – Brits with no road/rail connection to the rest of Europe, or the French, with all the connections they needed?

  10. The stupidest megaproject of ingeneering. On one side, people trying to be closer to the French. On the other, people trying to be closer to the English. R they dumb of what?

  12. That’s because british engineers were too drunk to design trains and the french had to manage both the trains and the railway (which runs according to french standards from the tunnel to London)

  14. We better don’t tell anyone how much of the Fehmarn-Belt tunnel will be built by Germany.

  15. I think the French were hesitant and unsure if that was a good decision.
