Rebel forces claim control of Syria’s city of Aleppo β€’ FRANCE 24 English

A monitor of Syria’s war said on Saturday that jihadist rebels now control a majority of Aleppo city, reporting Russian air strikes on parts of Syria’s second city for the first time since 2016. The rebels have pressed a lightning offensive against forces of the Iranian- and Russian-backed Syrian government since Wednesday.

  1. As long as Erdogan is in power in Turkey and Netanyahu in Israel, there will never be peace in the Middle East!

  2. It took Russia 5 years to "conquer" the city of Aleppo, but only 2 days for the rebels.
"Kiyv in 3 days". I'm starting to see a trend here.

  3. It should be heavily noted that these are not the "Syrian Rebels" from 2011. These are an Islamic extremist group with links to ISIS who are recognised as terrorists by the USA, EU and Canada. I genuinely don't understand why the media have started labelling them rebels simply because they are fighting against the established government, it's highly dangerous and bordering on deliberate misinformation (as a lot of effort was spent on painting the original rebels as moderate and that image will no doubt now transfer to extremists who are arguably much worse than Assad's forces).

  4. In less than 24 hours, both Chad and Senegal canceled their defense agreements with France, and the French military is obligated to withdraw its units from both countries, thus ending France's military presence in the Sahel region.

  5. So what's at stake here from an EU point of view? Is it either russian rule or Islamic rule? That's the choice?

  6. these are Turkish-backed jihadists. the moderate rebels are either part of the SDF or a shell of their former self

  7. israel and US are behind this sudden chaos in Syria.
    no doubt about this.
to crush Russia us and israel are using Syrian rebels.

  10. Everyone (expecially non syrians) supporting X or Y, but no one cares about the poor civilians and the 1.000.000 deads…

  11. Russia's puppeteering is 1st to blame in this revolt, then the US for trying to exploit it further by creating ISIS to plant its own puppets.
Syria is not a cake & both colonialists need to get out & let the Syrians oust the Russian backed, minority based, tyrannical regime & rule themselves.
Otherwise this is an endless attrition just like Palestine.

  12. I wonder why the Syrian rebels think their guns, anti tank weapons, battle tanks are a match for non nuclear armed Oreshnik missiles with a speed of Mach 10? Have they forgotten that President Assad has the support of Moscow? Perhaps they need to be reminded.
