Hello. Before the II World War I had family in then Latvian territory. I have old photos where somebody marked crosses/letter X over somebodys heads. I did not pay any attention to it until I found another photo with the markings on the internet, which I have no relation to.
Anybody knows what that cross/letter X over head means?
Is there writing on the other side or acompanying letter? Someone may have marked people discussed for reference.
